The Keysight Infiniium EXR-Series is a family of mixed signal oscilloscopes spanning eight models from 500 MHz to 6 GHz in either 4-channel or 8-channel configurations. Every model in the series provides a 16 GSa/s sample rate on every analog channel simultaneously, a 10-bit ADC with high-resolution modes extending to 16 bits, 100 Mpts of standard memory per channel, and a 15.6-inch Full HD capacitive touch display. The series is positioned by Keysight as powerful, easy to own, and intuitive to use, and is designed so that bandwidth, channel count, memory depth, and integrated instrument options can be added after purchase via license key.

The datasheet describes the EXR-Series as a multi-instrument platform that consolidates seven instruments into one chassis: an analog oscilloscope with up to eight channels, an optional 16-channel logic analyzer, an optional 50 MHz arbitrary waveform generator, a frequency response analyzer for Bode plots, 10-digit counters, a 4-digit digital voltmeter, and protocol analysis. Application areas called out in the datasheet include switch-mode power supply characterization, power rail and PMIC integrity analysis, serial protocol trigger and decode across automotive, embedded, MIPI, military, and USB buses, physical layer testing with InfiniiScan zone triggering, jitter and noise analysis, de-embedding, equalization and crosstalk analysis, PAM-n analysis, and compliance testing for standards including USB 2.0, Ethernet (10M through 10G and Automotive Ethernet), MIPI C-PHY and D-PHY, and DDR3/LPDDR3.

ValueTronics stocks, tests, and ships test and measurement equipment from a 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Pre-owned oscilloscopes such as the EXR608A are inspected and performance-verified by our in-house technicians before shipment, and condition reports describe what was actually measured rather than what the prior owner believed about the instrument. Calibration upgrade paths, including NIST-traceable, Z540.1, ISO 17025 with data, and Z540.3 guardbanding with data, are available so the unit can enter your quality system fully documented from day one. New EXR-Series units sold by ValueTronics carry the full Keysight manufacturer warranty under our authorized distribution relationship.

## Brand Heritage

Keysight Technologies was spun off from Agilent Technologies in 2014, and Agilent itself was formed in 1999 when Hewlett-Packard separated its test and measurement business from its computing business. Instruments and product lines that originated under HP and continued under Agilent are now supported and developed under the Keysight name.

## Compare Other Models in This Series

The Infiniium EXR-Series is offered in twelve catalog configurations spanning six bandwidth tiers — 500 MHz, 1 GHz, 2 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 4 GHz, and 6 GHz — with each tier available in either a 4-channel or an 8-channel chassis. Keysight describes the family as a single platform: every model in the series uses the same 16 GSa/s sample rate on every channel, the same 10-bit ADC, the same 100 Mpts of standard memory per channel, the same 15.6-inch Full HD touch display, and the same integrated instrument options for logic analysis, waveform generation, frequency response analysis, counters, and digital voltmeter.

Because every EXR-Series unit is calibrated to 6 GHz from the factory regardless of the bandwidth it ships with, Keysight offers bandwidth upgrades to any higher tier via license key without requiring an additional calibration outside the standard recommended interval. The same applies to memory depth and integrated instrument options. Channel count is the one exception: upgrading a 4-channel chassis to 8 channels requires return to a Keysight service center, but the model and serial number are retained.

Each new EXR-Series model listed below is offered on its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing, availability, and accessory lists. Use the comparison table to identify the bandwidth and channel configuration that matches your application, then open the individual product page to review the full specification table, condition description for that specific unit, and quote workflow.

The differences between EXR-Series models are concentrated in two dimensions: analog bandwidth at the 50 Ω input and the number of analog channels in the chassis. On the 1 MΩ input path, every EXR-Series model is limited to 500 MHz regardless of the 50 Ω bandwidth tier, so the higher-bandwidth tiers deliver their headline bandwidth only through the 50 Ω path. Typical 10/90% rise time scales accordingly across the tiers, with the datasheet listing values from 860 ps on the 500 MHz models down to 71.7 ps on the 6 GHz models.

Vertical noise and ENOB also scale with bandwidth: the datasheet shows progressively higher RMS noise floors and lower ENOB at higher analog bandwidths when the bandwidth limit filter is set to the model's full bandwidth, with the lowest noise figures and highest ENOB achieved at the 20 MHz limit. Power dissipation, weight, and acoustic noise differ between 4-channel and 8-channel chassis. Refer to the comparison table for the bandwidth-by-channel-count matrix used to select a configuration.

**Important:** Maximum input voltage on the 50 Ω path is ±5 V. Maximum input voltage on the 1 MΩ path is 30 VRMS or ±40 V (DC + VPEAK). No transient overvoltage is allowed in either the 50 Ω or 1 MΩ path, with or without probes.

**Important:** Warranted specifications are valid after a 30-minute warm-up period and within ± 5 °C from firmware calibration temperature.

**Important:** No transient overvoltage is allowed in either the 50 Ω or 1 MΩ path, with or without probes.

**Important:** The included N2873A 10:1 probe supports 300 Vₚₛ or ± 400 Vₘₐₓ (DC + Vₚₑₐₖ) for testing higher voltages.

**Important:** Channel upgrades (EXR28CH-xxx) require return to a Keysight service center; the model and serial number are kept. Cost of upgrade does not include shipping.

**Important:** Every model is calibrated to 6 GHz from the factory, so bandwidth upgrades require no further calibration outside of the standard recommended interval.

**Important:** Ferrites should be used on headphone cables to reduce possible electromagnetic interference.

**Important:** The Bandpass digital bandwidth-limit filter is designed for use in the Phase Noise Analysis application and is not designed for general purpose use.
