The R&S SMB100B is an RF signal generator from Rohde & Schwarz covering a frequency range that begins at 8 kHz and extends up to 1 GHz, 3 GHz, or 6 GHz depending on the installed frequency option (SMBB-B101, SMBB-B103, or SMBB-B106). It produces continuous-wave and modulated RF signals with a frequency setting resolution of 0.001 Hz, and is operated through a 5-inch color display with capacitive touch functionality. Phase offset is adjustable from -36000° to +36000° in 0.01° steps.

A signal generator provides a known, controllable stimulus signal used to drive a device under test so that its response can be measured. The SMB100B supports user-defined pulse and pulse-sequence scenarios — including jittered or staggered pulse patterns of the type used in radar applications — through its pulse generator and pulse train options. With the stereo/RDS coder option it can act as a stereo and RDS broadcast source across the 66 MHz to 110 MHz range, generating L/R stereo, pilot tone, and ARI/RDS subcarrier signals.

ValueTronics stocks the instruments it sells from its own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is handled accordingly: pre-owned units are inspected and functionally verified in-house before they ship, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

> **Important:** The base unit must be ordered together with one frequency option — R&S SMBB-B101 (1 GHz), SMBB-B103 (3 GHz), or SMBB-B106 (6 GHz).

> **Important:** Only one of the R&S®SMBB-B1 or R&S®SMBB-B1H reference oscillator options can be installed.

> **Important:** The R&S®SMBB-B32 ultra high output power option requires the R&S®SMBB-K31 option.

> **Important:** The R&S®SMBB-K27 pulse train option requires the R&S®SMBB-K23 option.

> **Important:** The R&S®SMBB-B5 stereo/RDS coder option requires the R&S®SMBB-K720 option.

> **Important:** Serial (RS-232) remote control requires the recommended extra R&S®TS-USB1.

> **Important:** The R&S®SMB100B includes reverse power protection as standard, which switches off the RF output signal if reverse power exceeds the limit.

> Recommended pairing: use an R&S NRP-series power sensor (for example the NRP18S-20 with the NRP-ZKU USB cable) for external power measurement and instrument level adjustment via the USB connector.
