The Anritsu MT8821C Radio Communication Analyzer is a base station simulator designed for R&D testing of mobile devices including smartphones, tablets, and M2M/IoT modules. Building on the technologies of the predecessor MT8820C, the MT8821C uses standard call processing sequences compliant with 3GPP and 3GPP2 test standards to support a versatile test lineup starting with RF measurements. The instrument covers 30 MHz to 3.8 GHz as standard, with optional extension to 6.0 GHz via the MT8821C-019 option.

The MT8821C is used for UE TRX characteristic evaluation during chipset and device development, evaluation, and acceptance testing by network operators. Applications listed in the product literature include RF TRX measurement and calibration, Over-The-Air (OTA) testing of UE antenna characteristics, SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) testing, UE power consumption measurement, Inter-RAT and DSDA dual-mode UE operation confirmation, IP data throughput testing, VoLTE voice and video echoback testing, and end-to-end communication testing. The instrument also supports 5G NSA (Non-Standalone) testing when combined with the Anritsu MT8000A Radio Communication Test Station, acting as the LTE anchor.

Every MT8821C unit offered by ValueTronics is held and prepared at our 20,000 square foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive, Elgin, Illinois. ValueTronics has specialized in test and measurement equipment since 1992, with in-house technical staff who evaluate, document, and prepare each instrument before it ships. This is materially different from drop-ship resellers and broker listings: when you order an MT8821C from us, the instrument is physically present in our Elgin facility and has been handled by our team rather than forwarded sight-unseen from a third party.

**Important:** Reference oscillator frequency accuracy before shipment is plus/minus 2.2 x 10^-8 (20° to 30°C, 1 hour after power-on); start-up characteristics are less than or equal to 5 x 10^-8 (10 minutes after power-on, referenced to frequency 24 hours after power-on).**Important:** MT8821C-019 (Extended RF 3.8 GHz to 6 GHz) option is required to extend the frequency range from the standard 30 MHz to 3.8 GHz up to 6.0 GHz.**Important:** Parallel Phone Measurement option (MT8821C-012) is required to enable the rear-panel Remote 2, Application Server 2, Audio I/O 2, GPIB 2, trigger 1/2 secondary ports, 10/1000BASE-T port 2, Call Processing I/O 2, and RS-232C port 2 for Phone 2 operation.**Important:** A commercial SIM adapter CANNOT be used with the Anritsu Test UICC cards (P0035, P0135, P0250, P0260, P0435 series). If used, it may jam and break in the UE.**Important:** RoHS is not supported when MT8821C-□03 or MT8821C-□05 retrofit options are installed.**Important:** Software options and measurement hardware have inter-dependencies (see datasheet 'Requires' notes); refer to the ordering information table to confirm prerequisite hardware/software before purchase.Recommended pairing: when configuring 5G NSA (Non-Standalone) tests, the MT8821C operates as the LTE anchor in combination with the Anritsu MT8000A Radio Communication Test Station, which provides the 5G NR cell function.
