The Keithley Series 2600B System SourceMeter SMU instruments are a family of source-measure units built on Keithley's third-generation SMU architecture. Each model combines the capabilities of a precision power supply, true current source, 6½-digit DMM, arbitrary waveform generator, pulse generator, and electronic load into a single tightly integrated instrument. The family includes single- and dual-channel configurations across three performance tiers — the 2601B/2602B/2604B for 3 A DC and 10 A pulse operation, the 2611B/2612B/2614B for 200 V and 10 A pulse operation, and the 2634B/2635B/2636B for low-current work down to 0.1 fA sensitivity.

The datasheet identifies I-V functional test and characterization across a wide range of devices as the primary application set. Listed device categories include two- and three-leaded discrete and passive components — sensors, disk drive heads, metal oxide varistors, diodes, zener diodes, capacitors, thermistors, small-signal BJTs, and FETs — along with simple ICs such as optos, drivers, switches, sensors, converters, and regulators. The datasheet also calls out integrated devices including analog ICs, RFICs, ASICs, and system-on-a-chip parts; optoelectronic devices such as LEDs, laser diodes, HBLEDs, VCSELs, and displays; wafer level reliability work including NBTI, TDDB, HCI, and electromigration; and solar cells and batteries.

ValueTronics is an authorized Keithley channel partner with a 20,000 sq ft secure facility at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every Series 2600B unit we list — whether new or pre-owned — is processed through our in-house receiving, inspection, and test workflow before it ships. That work is performed by our own technicians in our own facility, not drop-shipped from a third party. The result is a documented condition report on every used unit and a single accountable contact if anything needs follow-up after delivery.

## Brand Heritage

Keithley Instruments was founded in 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio and built its reputation on precision low-level current and voltage measurement. The company was acquired by Danaher Corporation in 2010 and, following Danaher's 2016 spin-off of its instrumentation businesses, became part of Fortive. Keithley today operates as a Tektronix company within the Fortive portfolio — the corporate co-branding visible on this datasheet's footer reflects that structure. Product development, calibration, and service support for the Series 2600B continue under the Keithley brand.

## Compare Other Models in This Series

The Series 2600B is organized into three I-V envelopes that share a common architecture, common firmware, common TSP scripting, and a common set of host interfaces. The 2601B/2602B/2604B group is the 3 A / 40 V tier, optimized for higher-current source work with a 10 A pulse capability. The 2611B/2612B/2614B group is the 200 V / 1.5 A tier, optimized for higher-voltage work on the same physical chassis. The 2634B/2635B/2636B group shares the 200 V / 1.5 A envelope of the 2611B family but adds the low-current measurement ranges — down to 0.1 fA display resolution — needed for leakage, gate current, and other femtoamp-class characterization.

Within each tier, the model number suffix indicates channel count and feature set: single-channel system models (2601B, 2611B, 2635B), dual-channel system models with full TSP-Link, contact check, and digital I/O (2602B, 2612B, 2636B), and dual-channel benchtop versions with TSP-Link, contact check, and digital I/O removed (2604B, 2614B, 2634B). The benchtop versions are positioned by the datasheet as value-priced alternatives for applications that do not require system-level automation.

Each model on this page links to its own dedicated product page with condition-matched pricing. Whether you need a new 2602B for a multi-channel R&D bench or a new 2636B for femtoamp leakage work, the specifications and capabilities described here apply across both new and pre-owned units — the difference is condition, documentation, and price.

The practical differences between the three tiers come down to the I-V envelope and the lowest measurable current. If the device under test runs at 3 A or higher current and below 40 V, the 2601B/2602B/2604B tier delivers the most usable power per channel (40.4 W vs. 30.3 W). If the device requires up to 200 V at lower currents, the 2611B/2612B/2614B tier or the 2634B/2635B/2636B tier are the correct choices. The deciding factor between those two 200 V tiers is the low end: the 2634B/2635B/2636B add the 100 pA and 1 nA current ranges (1 nA range on the 2635B; 100 pA range on the 2634B/2636B per the asterisked note) that the 2611B family does not have.

Channel count and system features track the suffix. The single-channel models (2601B, 2611B, 2635B) are the right answer for applications that need one independent source/measure point. The dual-channel system models (2602B, 2612B, 2636B) double the channel density and retain TSP-Link expansion, contact check, and the 25-pin digital I/O — making them the building block for multi-SMU automated test. The dual-channel benchtop models (2604B, 2614B, 2634B) keep both channels but drop TSP-Link, contact check, and digital I/O.

**Important:** 200 V operation on the 2611B/2612B/2614B and 2634B/2635B/2636B requires the safety interlock pin on the digital I/O connector to be driven high (>3.4 V at 24 mA, absolute maximum 6 V). When the INTERLOCK signal is below 0.4 V, 200 V operation is blocked.**Important:** 200V operation on Models 2611B, 2612B, 2614B, 2634B, 2635B, and 2636B requires an active Safety Interlock signal (>3.4V @ 24mA) on the Digital I/O connector. 200V operation will be blocked when the INTERLOCK signal is <0.4V.**Important:** 10A current range is accessible only in pulse mode on all Series 2600B models.**Important:** 100nA range is not available in High Capacitance Mode (and 100nA and below are not available on Models 2634B/2635B/2636B in High-C mode).**Important:** Models 2604B, 2614B, and 2634B are benchtop versions that do NOT include TSP-Link, Contact Check, or Digital I/O capabilities.**Important:** 100 pA current measurement range is not available on Model 2634B.**Important:** Maximum DC floating voltage is 250VDC from chassis ground.**Important:** For Models 2611B/2612B/2614B/2634B/2635B/2636B, Triax cables and connectors are required for low-current measurements; the supplied 2600-ALG-2 Low Noise Triax Cable with Alligator Clips is included with 2634B (two), 2635B (one), and 2636B (two), but Models 2601B/2602B/2604B/2611B/2612B/2614B ship with screw terminal connectors (2600-KIT) and may require separate test leads or adapters (such as 2600-BAN or 2600-TRIAX) depending on the connection requirements of the device under test.Recommended pairing: TSP-enabled multi-unit systems use the supplied CA-180-3A CAT5 crossover cables (two per instrument) to chain instruments via the TSP-Link ports — Category 5e or higher, 3 meters maximum between nodes.
