The PSA Series is a family of high-performance spectrum analyzers offering spectrum analysis up to 50 GHz, combining one-button measurements with a versatile feature set and a leading-edge combination of flexibility, speed, accuracy, and dynamic range. The series spans five models — the E4443A (3 Hz to 6.7 GHz), E4445A (3 Hz to 13.2 GHz), E4440A (3 Hz to 26.5 GHz), E4446A (3 Hz to 44 GHz), and E4448A (3 Hz to 50 GHz) — sharing a common architecture and differing primarily in maximum frequency coverage.

The PSA Series addresses high-performance applications ranging from millimeter wave and phase noise measurements to spur searches and modulation analysis. It is positioned for R&D and manufacturing engineers working in cellular and emerging wireless communications, aerospace, and defense, where comprehensive spectrum analysis across a wide frequency span is required.

ValueTronics stocks test and measurement equipment directly from its own 20,000 sq ft secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units ship factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

## Brand Heritage

Agilent Technologies was spun out of Hewlett-Packard in 1999, carrying forward HP's test and measurement heritage. In 2014, Agilent's electronic measurement business was transferred to a newly formed company, Keysight Technologies. Instruments branded Agilent therefore reflect this lineage of corporate name changes within the same product heritage.

## Compare Other Models in This Series

The PSA Series comprises five spectrum analyzer models built on a shared architecture, distinguished principally by their maximum frequency coverage. All five begin at 3 Hz and extend to model-specific upper limits: 6.7 GHz (E4443A), 13.2 GHz (E4445A), 26.5 GHz (E4440A), 44 GHz (E4446A), and 50 GHz (E4448A).

Across the family, the analyzers share the same one-button measurement approach, Power Suite measurement set, attenuation and resolution-bandwidth ranges, trace detectors, and remote interfaces. The model you choose is driven chiefly by the highest frequency your application needs to reach.

Each model below links to its own dedicated product page with pre-owned pricing matched to that specific unit. Select the model whose frequency coverage fits your application, then review its page for current availability and condition details.

The E4440A covers 3 Hz to 26.5 GHz, with DC-coupled operation across that full span and AC-coupled operation from 10 MHz upward. Its RF input uses a Type-N female 50 Ω connector (an APC 3.5 male input is available via Option BAB), placing it among the family members that share Type-N inputs rather than the 2.4 mm inputs used on the highest-frequency models.

The clearest difference among the models is frequency reach, stepping from 6.7 GHz on the E4443A up to 50 GHz on the E4448A, as shown in the comparison table. Front-panel RF connectors also differ by model: the E4443A, E4445A, and E4440A use Type-N female 50 Ω inputs, while the E4446A and E4448A use 2.4 mm male 50 Ω inputs suited to their higher frequencies.

Other model-dependent attributes include displayed average noise level and frequency response figures, which are specified separately for the E4443A/E4445A/E4440A group and the E4446A/E4448A group, and nominal net weight (23 kg for the lower-frequency group versus 24 kg for the two highest-frequency models). AC-coupled input handling of ±100 Vdc is specified for the E4443A, E4445A, and E4440A only. See the comparison table for the per-model values.
