The Agilent U8903A is an audio analyzer that brings the full functions of analog-domain and digital-domain audio measurement into a single box. It combines the functionality of a distortion meter, SINAD meter, frequency counter, AC voltmeter, DC voltmeter and FFT analyzer together with a low-distortion audio source, letting an engineer perform quick and convenient cross-domain measurements on both analog and digital audio. With an optional two-in-one digital audio interface card providing AES3/SPDIF and Digital Serial Interface (DSI) formats, the instrument is built to measure and quantify both analog and digital audio performance.

The U8903A is intended for applications such as analog and digital IC component and module design, wireless audio and consumer audio, and the testing and validation of consumer electronics and digital-audio-related ICs. It also includes measurement features that simplify testing of transceivers used in devices such as car radios, telephones, mobile radios, broadcast radios, FM tuners and television, and its SINAD mode is commonly used to test FM receivers when checking receiver sensitivity or adjacent-channel selectivity. On the bench or in an automated test system, it characterizes signal-to-noise ratio, SINAD, IMD, DFD, THD+N ratio, THD+N level, crosstalk and more.

ValueTronics stocks and holds its own test-and-measurement inventory in a 20,000 square-foot secure warehouse at 1675 Cambridge Drive in Elgin, Illinois. Every pre-owned unit is inspected and functionally verified in-house before it ships, while new units leave our facility factory-sealed exactly as received from the manufacturer.

## Brand Heritage

Hewlett-Packard's test and measurement business was spun out as Agilent Technologies in 1999, the era from which this instrument's Agilent branding dates. Agilent's electronic measurement division was later established as Keysight Technologies in 2014.
